GRC Dump Bag Tactical Repeater System

The GRC Dump Bag System provides a covert, highly flexible and simple to operate solution to providing man-portable range extension of voice communications in a crowded Electro Magnetic Spectrum (EMS).


The Dump Bag Tactical Repeater uses the AN/PRC-148 retrans-enabled plain text or cipher text radios. It offers an adaptable means of providing covert man-portable local area repeater functionality utilising the retrans functionality of the radios, powered from a single tacsat-type battery. Interchangeable duplexers permit the user to select the optimum frequency band for operation.


The Dump Bag Tactical Repeater is built into an attaché case, designed to appear completely benign. The case contains an integrated broadband antenna, interchangeable duplexer, and a battery pack to power the two on-board transceiver radios. The attaché case can be fitted within the daysack supplied for when an alternative appearance is required. A discreet port in the base of the case permits use of an external antenna when operational requirements dictate.

Multiband Capability: The integrated multiband antenna enables full use of the 30-512 MHZ band. External antennas may be used and can be selected according to role, mission, and platform requirements.

Frequency Agility and Diversity: Field interchangeable Duplexers allow the Dump Bag Tactical Repeater to operate within an allocated frequency range in the 30-512 MHz band, providing co-site interference protection and system optimization.


On-board Power Supply: The on-board battery pack uses one 2590 or 5590 type battery to provide power to the two on-board transceiver radios.
