Overt & Covert Vehicle Installations
The convergence of sensor, communication, surveillance, mapping and positional technologies has led to new opportunities for military, security services, and commercial operators, to build integrated platforms to perform a variety of functions. GRC leads the way in vehicle system integration.
Working in conjunction with specialist partners in the field, GRC often fulfills the role of lead system design authority. A programme and project manager oversee the evaluation and selection of appropriate equipment to meet the needs of the client, followed by a detailed project plan to ensure on-time and on-target delivery. Vehicles may be specially designed for the purpose or may be adapted production units, especially where a covert fit is required. When a vehicle enters the GRC vehicle workshop it is stripped down to optimise the use of available space, then rebuilt to accommodate the specialist antenna, communication, surveillance and monitoring equipment required by counter-terrorism and law enforcement agencies. Such installations do not detract from the performance of the vehicle or its ability to perform its base function.
A key differentiator in the vehicle market is the GRC power management suite of products, which provides an on-board UPS system to back up the vehicle power system, thus ensuring the integrity of critical communication components. This intelligent capability uses the vehicle power system in normal mode, but does not compromise the ability of the vehicle to move off quickly when necessary. The specification and siting of antennas is equally important in order to maximise the effectiveness of monitors, sensors and encrypted communications systems in an often crowded electro magnetic spectrum. Finally, vehicles are delivered to testing authorities to ensure compliance with EMC specifications and other criteria as specified by the client.
GRC is proud to have contributed to an increasingly sophisticated CT toolkit and continues to innovate in this dynamic marketplace
